The BOSTON ASSOCIATION OF CABARET ARTISTS promotes public awareness of cabaret and provides advocacy and support to cabaret artists and audiences in the greater Boston area. Founded in 1995, BACA has grown from a fledgling support group into a vital and active organization of over 150 members, led by a Board of Directors of nine volunteers. BACA provides a forum for information exchange about performances and workshops, concert venues, music resources, and collaborators such as accompanists and directors. BACA also advocates for further development of audiences, venues, and performance opportunities for cabaret artists.

Founded in 1995, our mission is to promote the awareness and advancement of cabaret performance as an art form on the West Coast. Our organization has set about to develop new audiences, and constantly encourage the press to cover cabaret via reviews and articles. Modeled after MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs), which virtually revitalized the cabaret scene in New York City, our membership has grown to over 400 members, with a notable amount of active celebrities (including Nancy Dussault, Michael Feinstein, Amanda McBroom, Andrea Marcovicci and Margaret Whiting).

Founded in 1998, the Chicago Cabaret Professionals is an alliance of performers and advocates of the art form of cabaret.

We exist to promote the art of cabaret by educating presenters, the media and the public at large; by encouraging the development of venues and audiences; and by establishing professional standards for performance conditions.

 

 

New York based Cabaret Association

A composer/lyricist of contemporary, story-driven cabaret songs that have been performed in clubs, off Broadway revues and showcase events around the country, including the ASCAP-MAC Songwriting Showcase. 

The Annual Cabaret Conference At Yale University is an internationally focused, nine-day teaching program that offers an intensive look at the art of cabaret performance technique, and trains professionals for the live entertainment industry. The Great American Songbook will be addressed and promoted in its entirety, from its origins in the late 19th century through the classic pop standards of the 1930s and 40s to today’s contemporary cabaret, musical theater and pop music.
